Time for Another Canvas

I'm getting stuck into this canvas malarkey.
I'm enjoying getting messy and not knowing how the project is going to turn out, "flying by the seat of my pants", as they say.

So I began with a flat canvas board brayering on Honey Dew and Chartreuse paints and then brayering the edge with Chutney. Masks were placed on the canvas and Chartreuse was stippled through it, they were moved slightly to one side Honey Dew and Chutney paint was stippled through layering over the top to add interest and left to dry.

Next Clear texture paste was added, for everyone who likes to touch the texture on a picture, me included. A little paint was sponged onto the canvas  then wiped away from the texture paste to show the colours beneath.

I decided to use the Lynn Brown stamps of tulips, stamping with paints then adding music script and treasure gold and shaping around a pencil then adding them to the canvas.

Lace trim and fabic bits were added to create interest.

A good helping of Onyxite and White Fire Treasure Gold finished off  the look.

Cards Cards Cards

Mother's Day  came and went followed by my nieces birthday.
Here are the cards I made.
Ta Dah!

Better late than never.

Minnie Mouse

I've finally finished a project started ummm, a couple of years ago!

Very bad mum promising to do a job and ummm, not finishing it!
What excuses can I come up with, let's see, " The cat ate it", "It got lost in an ocean of craftiness", "I didn't have the right materials".

Well let's move on swiftly.  A few years ago my youngest had a fab T-shirt with Minnie Mouse on, well I liked it.  When it was too small I suggested I would make a picture for her bedroom.

OK it's taken a while but now I'm really pleased with the results.
I had cut it out and backed the image with iron on stiffening ready to mount it, I had to buy a super large 3D frame as I didn't want to squash the finished item.
I went through a box of odd paper and found just the right shades and layered them in a pleasing way.
I distressed the edges of the papers with vintage photo ink then glued it into place.
I added some bits of lace and rik rac trim along with a few dylusions stamped images, some of which were stamped onto the remaining t shirt material and coloured using paperarsty transparent paints.
Minnie and the flowers were glued on with white glue and all put in the frame.

When Jess came home from school she was well impressed.
Only one problem, now she wants her bedroom decorated to match......

Nature Canvas

Today was a green day! A nature day!

I'm thinking about putting it forward into Hels Sheridan's
Sunday Challenge that's running this week.

A canvas was painted in two shades of green, texture was added with a bit if paste and interest was added through a mask or two.

A piece of utee which had previously been left to cool on a texture melt pot mat was painted  to match the canvas. Treasure gold was added to the moulded utee and to the edges of the canvas.

Paint stamped leaves were stamped on in script to make them pop. A small die cut butterfly and die cut flowers (the larger flowers from dictionary pages sprayed with inks) were put into the meltpot.
A few beaded stems were added and all was stuck down with a glue gun.

I did try to utee the beaded stems but that didn't end well and wasn't usable won't be trying that again.

Bye for now.

Unique Canvas

I began with a box canvas, covered with black gesso. Once dry I used dark blues to lighten the blackness. Using texture paste though a mask to create depth.

A lighter blue was added to water in a mini mister and sprayed onto the canvas letting it dribble down and cling around the raised areas. Script was stamped with a light paint and a sentiment was stamped onto a painted piece of grey board.

Die cut swirls, stamped leaves cut out and flowers  made earlier were placed down, a stem of shop bought beads were also put on the canvas along with a mini jar with silver flakes in, brown butchers twine was wrapped around it, then glued in place with a glue gun.
Tah Dah!

Canvas Creations

Stamping with paint, stippling through masks, paint, treasure gold, grunge paste, need I say more.
Here is a little lilac/purple number inspire by my eldest who loooves purples.

Nismo

The new car finally arrived.
Only two days late.

Fortunately Steve made it home to take delivery of it.
His check list ranged from checking the number plates matched the reg given to us,  checking for dents and damage, having a look under the car at the cill's for more damage, same for the alloys, etc etc. All I can say is, " it's a good job I didn't have to check it ".

Still there were problems tho, the guy delivering it didn't bring trade plates to take away my old faithful Rav 4, so, we ended up giving him the tax disc which as part of the deal we were to claim back, the Nissan mats weren't supplied and other niggles too.
Steve will sort it.

This was old faithful.                                   This is new Nismo.

So far Steve has been out in it everyday, ummmm, I thought it was my car!

April Fools Day

April 1st, 2014.

Today I was suppose to be having my first ever brand spanking new car.

The company delivering it messed up and forgot to put it on the schedule, hubby is fuming as he took day off to check it out and make sure all was good, I'm fuming as hubby is now working from home in the dining room come craft room so can't make anything.

My brother has been rushed into hospital with appendicitis, whilst on route to hospital with mum in the car who is, chatting about how much pain my brother is in etc, etc, I'm concentrating on the flow of traffic as you do, I notice a big van at the bottom of a hill with blacked out windows. by this point it's far to late, I look at the speedo and yes I'm over the speed limit, yes the van is a police speed camera van. I guess they'll  have a whole lot of fines going out in one go as there was a line of traffic in front of me too.
Anyhow
I do get very attached to my cars, my first ever car was a lilac singer chamois, basically a Hilman Imp, sports model of course with a walnut dash trim. It was a death trap, things used to fall off it including the fan belt which I watched bounce off from under the boot and down someone's drive in my mirror just like a comedy moment, my friends and I took ten minutes to locate it and took it in the next pub with us saying to the lads in the pub, "this just fell off the car, is it important".
The reply was, " How is the car still moving it's your fan belt".

On another occasion whilst driving around the island by the same pub, all four donut shaped rubbers on the wheel axels split apart. As designated driver I had to steer the car onto the pub carpark, leaving the girls to, urm, push the vehicle to the car park. Luckily some strapping lads felt sorry for the girl with the car that was older than she was and helped push it too.

It also set on fire and yes it was on the same pub carpark.  Young trendy pub full of young peeps (was over 25 years ago), just got my orange juice and the DJ asks for the owner of said vehicle to go to the bouncers. We thought it was a joke so joyfully ignored this.  Two minutes later with a bit more urgency, "Will the owner of the Imp please go to your car, IT'S ON FIRE". OOOOOPS!!

It eventually went to the scrapyard in the sky when my dad refused to repair it any more.

Happy Days

The  cars that followed were, an old Ford Escort Estate(red), a Rover with a Honda engine(silver), a Suzuki Cappuccino (two seater, tiny car red), Honda Civic Black 5door hatchback and the last one a Rav4 (silver gold colour), now yo be replaced with a Nissan Juke Nismo Black bits of red with a
button which increases performance in sports mode. Think that may be a bad idea considering today's events.
